Halo 3

August 14th, 2009

The other day, while looking through the Internet for information on the Halo 3 weapons cheats, I stumbled upon a number of what-if situations? What if Master Chief took on different famous characters from movies, comic books, and legends? Here is a list of some of these battles and my take on the outcome.

While technically not a Halo 3 weapon cheat, the match-up of Master Chief versus Robocop would be hot. According to the information on the Internet both have a few similarities. They're both human, they've both been improved on, they both have fantastic armour and they are both veteran fighters. Most respondents predicted that Master Chief would beat Robocop, but let's be honest here, Master Chief can be defeated with a pistol, whereas Robocop was still going after being blown up at a fuel station. The nod has to go to Robocop.

When Master Chief battles with the next combatant he would do well to have a Halo 3 weapon cheat. The next is MacGyver. Master Chief has a lot going for him. He is proficient with a number of weapons; he has that amazing armour; he has some incredible vehicles at his disposal; he's a Clint Eastwood type loner and he can regenerate himself. However, in short, MacGyver is brain over brawn. It would probably come down to the same considerations in a fight between Batman and Superman. If it's a closed arena where it's man versus man, Master Chief will win. But put this contest in the real world with Swiss army knives and duct tape at his disposal, and MacGyver's going to murder our futuristic friend.

Up until now Master Chief is 2-0 down, and it's beginning to seem like he can really use a Halo 3 weapon cheat or two. But let's give him another opponent. This time it's going to be Master Chief versus the Terminator. We already know Master Chief's powers, the Terminator's are an ability to master any weapon, relentless willpower, indefatigability, amazing detrermination to kill his target. It all comes down to the Spartan laser weapon. As one voter pointed out, if Master Chief can destroy vehicles with this weapon he can certainly put a sizeable hole in the Terminator too.

Let's have another contest before Master Chief discovers his Halo 3 weapon cheat. How can he do against Boba Fett from Star Wars? The main differences between Master Chief and Boba Fett are that Boba has no shields, owns his own ship and has a jet pack.

Many people believe Star Wars would win this battle, but Master Chief's weapons are much more powerful than those shown by the bounty hunter. This one makes it evens at 2-2.

So, those are the results. In this tiny poll that we found on the Internet, Master Chief is your average kind of super hero, who is not sure to win every bout, unless he finds his weapon cheats or the story writers want him to, that is.

Home Theater Lighting

August 4th, 2009

Light fixtures are things that not that many of us think about all that often. However, the lighting in a room can cause us to feel a experience mood or enhance the atmosphere we want to create in that room. There are many types of light fixtures, fittings, bulbs, shades and stands to suit all rooms in the home. That means both indoors and even outdoors where you might want to emphasize some special landscape feature.

Are you planning to remodel a room? In this case, I know it concerns a home movie theater room, because my friend, Owen Jones, told me. I think that you should consider light fixtures as one element to change. For instance, you could start by ignoring the central, overhead incandescent bulb or tube light for sure.

I would suggest installing four or even six small wall-lights. These are not expensive and come in hundreds of colours and sizes to suit any pocket. The only drawback with wall lighting for your home theater, is that the wires would really have to be cut into the wall so as not to be unsightly.

However, you could avoid this by using standard lamps. These are also available in a myriad of designs, but they come with two drawbacks: namely trailing wires and a higher cost. They are moveable though. Small, table lamps is a sub-class alternative, but you may need more electrical points.

Once you have decided on what you want, have each lamp dimmable either in unison or separately, up to you. You should probably keep one fairly powerful light at the business end of things in case the equipment needs seeing to, but it too could be on a dimmer.

The effect can be stunning. And all from just changing the existing light fixtures and fittings. You could even go the whole hog and have an exit sign over the door or a few speciality lights higher up out of line of sight so that they are not distracting " say, a 1970s style lunar lamp and a fibre-optic lamp, for amusement or as a talking point while waiting for the film or snacks to be prepared.

So, whatever type of home theater lighting you are looking for, contemporary or old style traditional, you will find many options to choose from. From different colors to different sizes and styles, there are many. You can find them online or in home improvement stores. I have made a link to one of my online favourites below.

Furthermore, when you do implement the changes, you will notice that your home theater has taken on an ambiance all of its own and it will "definitely" enhance your home movie theater experience. In fact, it may be these subtle changes, room by room, that make you see your home in a very different light.

When Did Halo 3 Come Out?

July 20th, 2009

On May 15, 2007 the information was published " the Halo 3 release date would be September 25 in North America and the 26th in Europe. Halo 3 marked the third in a wildly popular series for the Xbox 360 called Halo. According to the vice president of Microsoft's interactive entertainment business, Halo 3's release was more than just a video game release, it was the biggest entertainment event of the year. He may just have been right.

The full history of Halo 3 really has to start with the publication of the first game in the series 'Halo: Combat Evolved'. In November, 2001, when Halo was first published, game consoles were something of a joke as one-person shoot-em-up games. Sure, some games existed, but there weren't the popular following that the PC games in the genre had.

That all changed with Halo, in which players could battle aliens on foot and in vehicles, completing objectives, while trying to uncover the secret of the Halo. Halo pioneered limiting the number of weapons a player could carry to two, which meant forcing the player to make strategic decisions.

People waited for the release of Halo 3 with baited breath. They awaited the continuation of the one-person, shoot-em-up combat format that had been prevalent in the two previous parts of Halo. Microsoft calls it the 'Golden Triangle of Halo', which consists of gun-type weapons, grenades and others. In actuality, this was not new to one-person, shoot-em-up games, as it had existed since the very first Doom and even the precursor to that game, "Wolfenstein".

So, with all of that previous history, people were full of excitement about the Halo 3 release date. How popular and welcome was the game? Well, before its release, 3.1 million copies were sold in advance orders and retailers were sure that that was insufficient.

The game grossed $300 million in the United States in just its first week. Overall, it has sold over nine million copies worldwide and was the best-selling video game in the United States in 2007. Even the critics liked it, ranking it the seventh highest in the all-time list of Xbox 360 games.

The Halo 3 release date, like the release date of many wildly popular video games was almost like a holiday like Christmas or Easter. It beggars the question of what will happen in the realm of video games in the future?

Halo 3: The Spectacle

Home Movie Theater Lighting

Home Theater Screens

June 26th, 2009

When it comes to choosing a screen, the first consideration is the type of screen you want or even need. If the room where you are setting up your home theater is large, then you will have to have a home theater projection screen or maybe you just want one anyway.

Personally, I like the idea of having a drop-down screen, but sometimes you have to have one anyway even in a modest-sized home movie theater. It would convert your living room into a home movie theater at the click of a remote. Imagine: you lie back in your chair; click the remote and the screen drops down; click another time and the lights dim; click another again and the film begins!

If you prefer a television screen, then you might consider buying a new one if you can afford it. They say that a 27 inch screen is large enough, but I do not agree. In my opinion, you really need 48-60 inches, but then I am a 50 something year old and my eyes are definitely not what they once were.

If you are purchasing a new TV for your home movie theater, I think you should aim high. HDTV is already here and since February 2009 the USA has been committed to High Definition. So, I would make sure that your new television is able to receive it. Then I suggest that your new home movie theater screen be a flat one in order to reduce the annoying reflections that could ruin your experience, which could be another reason for choosing a projection screen.

Then you should make sure that your new TV has enough input and output sockets for the equipment you plan to use and you're ready. So, to summarize, I would choose:

At minimum a 27 inch screen

A flat screen

HDTV compatibility

Enough input and output plugs and sockets

Satellite compatibility

I recommend satellite compatibility because it is probably the future or near future at least. If you get a satellite TV connection you will have access to HDTV downloads which you can watch whenever you like.

Home Movie Theater Projectors

June 17th, 2009

Going to the movies is a very popular recreation especially for those young professionals living very|considerably stressful lives running corporate affairs. However, for those who cannot afford to spend time travelling back and fore to movie theaters, the answer to this recreational problem could be just inside their own house.

You could recreate the audio-visual systems of the movie theaters with your very own custom home theater system. The best custom home theater installation certainly can consist of high quality components that are capable of rendering the complete movie theater experience without having to travel from your residence to the movie theater wasting time and effort queuing in heavy traffic. This modern technology can give you the relaxation and experience that full-sized movie theaters furnish.

The basic components: a wide screen and loudspeakers with clear and flicker free images from a high quality DVD, can easily create quite an authentic movie-going experience. Home theater professionals recommend that before you choose the final set-up and equipment for your custom home theater system, the dimensions of the room must be the first thing to think about.

So, if you have a small sized location in mind for your home theater system, a TV set may be best located in the centre of one wall and three speakers, placed on the left, right and center, might be sufficient to provide the surround sound you require from a custom movie theater. However, if you have a bigger room, a home theater projector might be the better bet for recreating the big screen experience.

Home theater projector screens can provide an authentic movie theater experience. If you have a very large room for your home theater system, in combination with your home theater projector and home theater projector screen, you could add some more loudspeakers around the room. Another useful tip is that a sub-woofer may also help to provide the optimum surround sound to allow you to recreate the authentic sound of a movie theater in your very own living room.

There are a variety of designs and models of home theater projector you could choose from. You will have to get acquainted with the qualities of each one, before you make up your mind which one to purchase. It could also be necessary for you to hire the services of a home theater expert to get the home theater system that will give you optimum entertainment. This will mean not having to spend an unreasonable amount of time and money on your home theater system and home theater projector.

It is so easy to buy equipment with an unnecessarily large capacity for your home theater, especially if you do not know what the possible choices are and the various requirements that your home theater may have due to its dimensions. The size of your home theater projector screen should be a function of the size of your room and the components of your custom home theater. For example, from where you plan to sit to the screen should be between two and five times the diameter of the screen. So, looking at it from the other perspective, if you are going to sit 10 feet (120 inches) from the screen, then the screen should be 24-60 inches, but it is very subjective and depends on the viewers eyesight.

Your home theater designer could also suggest options that do not include a television screen for your home theater. Why|How come|How is this so? It is because of the technological innovations utilized by computers and home theater projectors. Home theater projectors like InFocus screenplay models, for examplecan be hooked up with a computer in a small room set-up. Home theater projectors are also lightweight and may be moved about easily. For this reason, a projector is very convenient for employment in custom home theaters and business presentations.

Home theater projectors and home theater projector screens do help provide a true cinematic experience. This type of installation is particularly handy for business presentations and therefore it is becoming ever more in demand. This combination of your custom home and custom office theater systems is a brand new phenomenon, which only a few smart customers have dreamt up.

It may well be that being now cognizant of all these facts: ie, that a basic television set, three speakers and a DVD player can be enough for those people who only want a start-up home theater system, you may decide that you do not really need a home theater projector, especially if the room for your custom home theater system is not very big|large|.

Enjoy a cinematographic experience right in your own home by researching your options intelligently. You can then experience the relaxation a movie theater gives you without having to endure heavy traffic on the way to and from the movie theater.

A Tinseltown Movie Theater At Home

June 11th, 2009

Home Tinseltown Movie Theater

Just imagine experiencing the entertainment of the Tinseltown Movie Theater right in your very own living room.

Everyone would agree that the cinema or movie theater is a good environment to watch movies and let your hair down, so magical is a Tinseltown movie theater.

Obviously, the reason for this is because you see the film on a wide screen with quadraphonic sound that can easily make you lose yourself in the scene of the picture

The high quality of the Tinseltown picture and the realistic hi-fi system are surely the most entertaining part of the cinema-going experience. It certainly is not being present in the cinema complex itself! They are often full of shops vying for your money before you sit down and full of noisy yobs after youve sat down!

But, what if you brought this technology home with you? And what if it worked out less expensive also? Surely, this would certainly be something you would enjoy more. Just picture it for a little while: a real Tinseltown Movie Theater in the house " in your house!

Until fairly recently, only a small number of American families had boughta Tinseltown movie theater to be used in their own places of residence. Of late, however, a high number of American people are starting to be less interested in making the effort to watch Tinseltowns movies in a multiplex.

Surely, this has to do with the development of the Tinseltown movie theater entertainment system.

A simple home movie theater is very easy to set up. All you need is a television set with a screen that is bigger than 27 inches, a DVD player and three ordinary speakers. And voila the basic components of a Tinseltown movie theater. This could be suppicient to give you the level of home movie entertainment that suits you.

However, I have no doubt that you would want the original feeling of sitting in a full-scale Tinseltown movie theater, but without the distractions " or maybe it is you, who likes to sing along, shout out loud or otherwise get involved in the movie, but doesnt like to annoy the other viewers. Could be, you know, :-)
Anyway, the reason that I am saying this is because there are other pieces of kit you might add in order to upgrade the home Tinseltown movie theater experience. A few additions, over time, say, which would ensure a rather more authentic Tinseltown movie theater experience right in your very own living room.

For example, you could supplement the already mentioned three vital pieces of equipment by installing specialist home movie entertainment reclinersfurniture; a cool drinks cabinet; a table for amuse-bouche; dimable lighting on remote control; air conditioning or fans; an usherette with a torch - OK, maybe thats going a bit too far But, everything is dependent on the budget you set for your home Tinseltown movie theater. The size of the room is another factor determining how splendid your home Tinseltown movie theater is.

A handy tip from home theater boffins is that you need to find the correct size television screen for your Tinseltown home movie theater. The right size does not necessarily mean the biggest you can afford. The proper sized television depends on the place in your house where you are going to install the home movie theater. "Big" is not always the best choice for your home movie entertainment system. It is, however, to be advised that the television screen should not be less than 27 inches, because the picture on a smaller television could be disappointing for a Tinseltown home movie theater. A good principle is that the seats should be roughly 5-8 times the diameter of the television screen away for average eyesight.

Another piece of advice is that you install speakers that will give you high qualitysurround sound from a high quality make of speakers. On top of that, you need to make sure that if the speakers you buy do not produce enough surround sound, then you can to swap them. There are speakers that sound fantastic in the shop but when you put them in a room, they sound awful. If the mall allows returns, then that is all is well.

Then, you may need to choose a DVD player. Again, quality is important. It is a belief of many home theater experts that all DVD players deliver clear and crisp images. Although some DVD players guarantee a flicker-free picture, almost all DVD players provide this feature, so dont be overly swayed by this claim.

So, size is important, in this case. Knowing what the dimensions of the room are where you will set up your home Tinseltown movie theater, will be the deciding factor of how big the screen has to be. The size of the room is also the basis for evaluating the number of speakers. If the location is somewhat big, you may require more than the basic three speakers. Adding a subwoofer may also help to achieve a good surround sound if your home Tinseltown movie theater is in a bigger room again.

All of these factors will allow you such a home Tinseltown movie theater experience as, a few years ago, only a few could have. A professional home movie theater designer could be a big help in helping you achieve the best home Tinseltown movie theater set up to give you the best possible home movie theater experience right there in your very own living room.

Teeth Whitening: Pros and Cons

June 7th, 2009

Selecting teeth whitening products from the different teeth whitening products available on the market today can be very confusing. However, some of these teeth whitening products do not produce the desired results.

If you were to ask dentists, they would tell you that the best method of teeth whitening is still obtained via your dentist. Not only is it the best, but it is also the most effective and the quickest method of getting whiter teeth.

However, not all people can afford the fees that come with each treatment. Another thing that hinders them from going to dentists is fear. It seems that in early childhood, dentists are one of the most feared professions and that children just do not want to have to go to them. This fear continues on into adult years.

Although dentists do not recommend people to choose teeth whitening products, they all agree that some of these products are effective to a degree. According to many studies, most teeth whitening products can result in whiter teeth that can out perform any dentist-assisted procedure, if used according to the instructions.

Another bonus that teeth whitening products have, is that they contain the same ingredients that are used in professional whitening. Two of the active ingredients needed for whitening teeth are hydrogen peroxide and carbamide. These two products are also the ingredients that are present in some of the products that are on sale in ordinary grocery shops and pharmacies.

The only advantage that amateur teeth whitening products have over professional whitening is that they are much cheaper. Everyone who learns about them can afford to add them to their list of basic shopping requirements.

Many of these items can be had for less than $30. Compare this with the $100 or more that you are charged at the dentist's surgery. It will not astound you that most people prefer them over the higher fees. However, teeth whitening products do have some disadvantages. Some of these are:

1. Suitability. Teeth whitening products cater to all types of teeth, it is true, but then different people have different needs. What some people find to be effective may not work for others. This is one of the problems that people will come across with these 'home' products.

Some people have sensitive teeth and gums and their reaction to these products will depend upon the suitability of the products to the persons using them. Another option would be to try out different products until you find the one that is suitable to you.

2. Strong Chemicals Used. You will not know what your reaction to any given chemical will be until you have tested it yourself. As you do not know how sensitive your teeth are, you will also not know what will happen until you begin using the product. It is wiser to talk with your dentist before choosing any product at all.

3. Tray may not fit. The tray used in your mouth is not exactly right to you, so there is a chance that it may be either too big or too small.

If it is too large, the formula may not work very well. On the other hand, if it is too small, it may cause gum bleeding and side effects that will cause bigger problems. Be sure that the teeth whitening precuts you choose are right for you. If none of them works, then maybe professional teeth whitening will.

Do I need Teeth Whitening?

May 29th, 2009

Your teeth are a very important feature of your appearance. Teeth whitening facilities realize this fact, which is why they are encouraging people to whiten their teeth, so that they can look their best and so that others will find their general appearance more pleasing.

Whitening your teeth can also boost your self confidence. Have you ever noticed those people who smile a lot even to strangers? Notice how easily they radiate warmth just by smiling that Hollywood smile. Sometimes, that smile is so catching that you find yourself smiling and feeling better for the rest of the day.

This is the reason why you should perfect that smile, so you can give it much more often. One way of perfecting it, is by whitening your teeth. These days where beauty products and facial makeovers are rampant, you see lots of beautiful people. However, what you will always remember is the colour of their teeth.

You probably think that they are very fortunate to have been born with beautiful white teeth like that, but what you do not realize is that those teeth are the result of the whitening products and procedures that are available on the market today.

Over-the-counter teeth whitening products are not as expensive as they used to be. This may be because of the stiff competition out in the market. With so many new products appearing almost everyday, it is no wonder that the prices are dropping so quickly.

Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Are your teeth as white as they used to be? Do you feel that they could be made even whiter? Are you one of those people that would benefit from having their teeth whitened?

To answer these questions, look at some of these considerations:

1. Methods for teeth whitening. The methods used for teeth whitening can vary on a case-to-case basis. For every individual, there is a method that will suit their different requirements. You can choose veneers instead of bleaching or teeth whitening. The best thing to do is to consult your dentist first about what you should do. Your dentist will be able to advise you what will be the best for your requirements.

2. Smokers and caffeine-addicts. If you are one of those who like to take caffeinated drinks, then you are an ideal candidate for teeth whitening. This is the same for persons who smoke. The ingredients in caffeinated drinks can dull your teeth if you have been drinking caffeine for a long time. Tar and nicotine can also discolour teeth easily.

By having your teeth whitened or by using whitening toothpaste every day, you can lessen the effects that these ingredients will have on your teeth. Continued, regular use will definitely help fight off the quick discoloration of your teeth.

3. Sensitive teeth and gums. Your teeth and gums may not be able to withstand the chemical contents of whitening products. If you suspect you have sensitive teeth, it is best to delay using whitening products until you have asked your dentist first.

If you have a sensitive mouth, but are still serious about having your teeth whitened, then you had better get one of the professional treatments. Do not take the chance of trying out products that you can buy over the counter.

Once you have considered all these aspects, then you will have a better idea if you are ready for that teeth whitening procedure. When it comes to your well being, it is always better to be safe than to be sorry.
