Why PCs Are Better Than Laptops

March 17th, 2010

Many households nowadays have either PCs or laptops, used for work, recreation or both. If you are thinking of getting either one for your own use, there are several things that you should take into consideration before you make your decision. These include the price, peripherals and accessories, upgrades and repairs and your lifestyle.

You would probably spend the same amount for peripherals and accessories, regardless if you are using a desktop or a laptop. But then it depends on the brand of the unit, since the prices differ from one brand to another. But if you live in a small space, a laptop is the better choice, since it is a self-contained unit that has less wires and hardware. With a desktop, there is the keyboard, CPU and monitor to deal with.

PCs are easier to upgrade and repair than laptops. You can easily add more RAM, put in a better video card, and replace the processor and many more. On the other hand, there are some laptop brands where an upgrade is impossible and you have to buy new unit in order to have a faster, better and stronger computer.

You should also consider your lifestyle and how your computer will fit in it. For instance, if you will be using it mainly for work or business, you should get a unit with more storage for files and applications. On the other hand, a gamer will want a powerful computer with a good video card. Someone who multitasks would probably want a unit that they can take anywhere.

A desktop would also be a better buy if you need more storage for files and programs, or a powerful computer with a good video card for gaming. On the other hand, if you need to be able to use a computer anytime and anywhere, a laptop is your best bet. In general, your lifestyle and how you intend to use your computer is another important consideration.

The above are just some general considerations in buying a computer. If you can afford it, why not get both-a reasonably priced laptop for mobility and an inexpensive desktop for your printing and storing files. With the number of available brands and models of chic and mobile laptops, as well as robust and powerful PCs, a limited budget should not stop you from getting a computer that meets your requirements.

Even though people use phones to do some computing, most of it is still done on a PCs. Most people have laptops and smartphones, and both of them are useful for their own kind of computing.

October 3rd, 2009

The number of people who uses iPhones are still in constant growth. iPhones are not just those who love multimedia features but moreover for those who are very much occupied in the fast paced corporate world.

Because of this, it is important for these people to know how to set up an iPhone email account. Many people would think that it is going to be very complicated but it is the other way around as a matter of fact.

Primary step to take is to choose the most compatible email account with your computer. Since iPhone is compatible with a Mac computer or any other personal computer for as long as there is an Outlook application, then it is what you should settle for.

Next is to find the options for mail in your mobile device. If you have an account already, then you just proceed to the settings and choose mail option of your phone.

Then proceed to the Add account option. After that, you can therefore choose the POP option. This is the section where you will be given the chance to fill in the information for your account. You have to include the information about your incoming mail server which would require for your account's username and password.

Once you finished filling the server for incoming mail information up, you will now need to fill the outgoing mail server. Since its information is the same as the incoming mail server, you will be asked to type in both your username and account password.

Once you are done putting in these information, you now need to tap on the "Advance" tab. This is located under SMTP and it is the tab where you need to turn off the incoming SSL and outgoing SSL. Once you have turned these off, you have already set up the account on your iPhone.

Setting up your iPhone to receive iPhone email will definitely be very advantageous for you as you will not miss any important updates or meetings that might result to loss of clients and thus loss of income for your business. This is a new development in technology that will make emails accessible wherever you go.
